What NIH ODS says
The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements describes boron as a trace element present in food and supplements. It is not classified as an essential nutrient for humans because a clear biological function has not been established.
Adult upper intake level
NIH ODS lists a tolerable upper intake level of 20 mg/day for adults age 19+. That figure refers to boron intake, not the gross weight of every boron-containing compound.
VigorPeak label wording
VigorPeak is listed as containing “Boron Amino Acid Chelate 5% — 20 mg.” We therefore avoid writing “VigorPeak contains 20 mg boron,” because that would collapse the chelate ingredient weight into an elemental amount without adequate support.
Why this is a useful comparison lesson
Mineral forms vary. When comparing VigorPeak with Nugenix Total-T or Prime Male, use the exact label wording rather than matching only the word “boron.”
